江戸時代の名奉行・大岡越前守忠相公の偉業を偲ぶ「第68回大岡越前祭」.
湘南祭、浜降祭などと並ぶ、茅ヶ崎市の４大イベントの１つである「大岡越前祭」について、茅ヶ崎市は2023年４月29日（土・祝）・30日㈰に行うと。
２０１９年以来、４年ぶりの開催となります。

大岡越前守忠相と茅ヶ崎市のゆかりは、祖先の知行地であったことと菩提寺があることです。
大岡家は、徳川家直参の三河武士で、家康も大岡家代々の忠誠には深い信頼を寄せていたといわれています。その家康の関東入府に従った、忠政の最初の知行地が茅ヶ崎の堤村でした。
2代当主忠政が初代忠勝（忠相の曾祖父）の追善のために建立したのが、茅ヶ崎市北部にある浄見寺です。「浄見寺」という名前は、忠政の法名「大綱院殿忠誉窓月浄見大居士」の中から四文字をとり、山号窓月山・寺号浄見寺として名付けたとされています。

大岡越前祭のはじまり
大岡越前祭の由来において、茅ケ崎市堤にある浄見寺と大岡越前守忠相公の関係は欠かせないものとなっています。
　江戸時代中期の有能な官僚であった大岡越前守忠相公を輩出した大岡家は、茅ヶ崎の堤村を領地として治めていました。2代当主忠政が初代忠勝の追善のために建立したのが、茅ヶ崎市北部にある浄見寺です。
From the origin of the Ooka Echizen Festival, the relationship between Jomiji Temple in Tsutsumi, Chigasaki-shi and Ooka Echizen Mamoru Tadayoshi has become indispensable.
　The Ooka family, who produced the talented bureaucracy in the middle of the Edo period, ruled Tsutsumi Village in Chigasaki as its territory. Jomiji Temple, located in the northern part of Chigasaki City, was built by the second generation Tadamasa to pursue the first Tadakatsu.
浄見寺は大岡家代々の菩提寺で、元和元年（1615年）にこの寺に改葬された初代忠勝の墓石をはじめとして、13代まで一族累代の墓碑58基が整然と並んでいます。
Jomi-ji Temple is a bodhi-ji temple of the Ooka family. There are 58 tombstones of the clan up to the 13th generation, including the tombstones of the first Tadakatsu buried in this temple in 1615.
　5代当主である忠相公は1751年（宝暦元年）に75歳で亡くなっていますが、数々の功績に対して1912年（大正元年）従四位が贈られ、翌大正2年には忠相公の墓前で贈位祭が行われ、これが大岡越前祭の始まりとなりました。

　その後、大岡越前祭は関東大震災や戦争などで中断していましたが、昭和31年に復活し、茅ヶ崎の春祭りとして墓前法要、越前行列など様々な催しが行われ、市内外を問わず親しまれています。
